Lost and Found
If you or your child are missing any items, please check the lost and found bin located in the Gathering Place. After Night Tree this basket is brimming with hats, gloves, and other assorted items, and we want to reunite them with their owners! All leftover items will go to Overfield’s extra clothes or be donated after Winter Break. Thank You!
Night Tree, as always, was the high point of our Overfield fall festivities. The Gathering Place was brimming with native evergreens and children’s artwork. The walls were lit with silhouettes of woodland animals; fall leaves and snowflakes, held by clothespins, dangled from twine, draped overhead. After songs with Carla, and the Night Tree story read by our founder Julia Hobart, the animal treats were dispersed among the trees and bushes around the school. Cookies and friendship were a perfect ending to all the programs.
This week, the children are putting the last minute touches on their family gifts before heading off for holiday break. Both Stella and Whiskers, our resident guinea pigs, have their holiday destination plans complete. The fish tanks will have their special feeders, and I will check in to make sure all our fish and flora are safe inside and outside.
I would like to thank all of the Overfield children and their families for thinking of me, and for their wonderful gifts. Enjoy the holidays, see you next year!
Warm wishes and love, Deb

Join us in welcoming Jake Lockwood to Overfield for a theater residency January 7-11!
Jake’s twenty-plus years of experience in the entertainment industry have prepared him for virtually any challenge in the theatrical world. As a writer, director and entertainer, Jake has extensive experience in creating and performing exciting and innovative theme park and regional theatre productions. Whether it is musical theatre, physical comedy, puppetry, improvisation or even blowing giant bubbles….if you have seen it on stage, chances are good that Jake has had a creative hand in developing something similar.
Growing up in the theatre with a strong influence of music and dance, Jake is eager to share his passion for the arts with young audiences, creating shows for school tours and devoting time in the schools as an arts integration specialist.
His dedication to story has led Jake in a new direction lately, using his experience to help craft story-lines for multiple clients developing new theme park attractions. He is also pursuing his life-long dream of being produced on Broadway by continuing to work on the scripts of two new plays and a musical.
Interesting side note: Jake is an avid “Do-it-your-self-er” who enjoys making lamps and renovating his family home.
Wishing all of you a restful Winter Break surrounded by family and friends! We here at Overfield are thankful for each and every one of you, and look forward to seeing you in the new year. Happy Holidays!
