SCHOOL WILL NOT BE IN SESSION Monday, January 20 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Enjoy the long weekend.

After School at Overfield enrichment classes begin Tuesday, January 21. There is still room for more children in our “Winter Outdoors” enrichment for 3-5 year olds with Deb DeCurtins. The classes are also open to children who are not currently Overfield students, so pass the word along if you have friends or neighbors who might be interested. Contact the school office for more information.

Kindergarten Information Meeting: This Thursday, January 23 at 6:30 p.m., we will host an evening for learning more about the daily life of our Kindergarten at Overfield. Those of you whose children will be old enough for Kindergarten in the upcoming school year are warmly invited to attend. There will be discussion about our philosophy of education and examples of the engaging daily experiences that not only prepare children for First Grade, but for many years of joyful learning afterward.

Strawberry Festival: If you enjoy cooking and baking, and have some great strawberry recipes, the OFP would love for you to offer ideas for the Strawberry Festival Booth fundraiser. We will meet in the Library after morning drop off on Monday, January 27th. Bring your recipe ideas and creativity to our meeting.

Reggio Roundtable Discussion: Join us to discuss how a Reggio-inspired approach to education can play out in your family’s life on a daily basis. Come to the Gathering Place after morning drop off to enjoy conversation, coffee and baked goods. Younger siblings are welcome to come and play in the Gathering Place while we talk. We will use this article by Reggio Emilia founder Loris Malaguzzi to help spark our conversation. Date clarification – our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 23rd.

2014-2015 Registration opens soon! Registration will be set up in the Gathering Place during drop-off and pickup on Monday, January 27 through Thursday, January 30. We open registration for current families two weeks before we open to the public so that you can have first pick of next year’s classes. Class options for next year will be handed out early next week. We are happy to tell you that tuition will not be changing next year! Feel free to talk with your child’s teachers or call the office with questions.
