We have three new features on our playground this week and an improved view of the Hobart Preserve thanks to a group of parent and staff volunteers who came out and worked hard last Saturday on a cold, wet day. The children really seem to enjoy playing on the new structures. They have new climbing and balancing challenges, opportunities to help one another, and platforms for inventing new games.
The school extends an enormous thank you to all those who participated or donated materials on Saturday: Stephanie and Evan Anderson,Tom Barsotti, Jason and Amy Cash, Laura Daehnke, Eric Davis, Deb DeCurtins, Matt Helke, Erin Johnston, Allen Jones, Will LeRoy, Elizabeth Perry, and Casey Werner. We will schedule more work days in the coming months. In the meantime, enjoy these images of the children at play!

Our Ohio Arts Council-sponsored poetry residency with Nancy Kangas is in full swing. Each of the the children have had or will have a chance in the coming week to work with Nancy in a small group to reflect on and create poetry. A celebration of the residency will take place this Thursday from 6:30-7:30, starting in the Gathering Place. This will be a time to see some of the children’s work and to take part in as a family in poetry-inspired games. We hope to see many of you there!
