We hope you will join us for a celebration of his residency on Thursday, November 17th at 6 p.m. in the Gathering Place. Please make sure the children are dressed in comfortable clothes for dancing that week. Visit Inlet’s website for more information about this amazing dance company.

This is a place for friends of Overfield to stay in touch, share stories, and celebrate the wonderful memories and relationships made at Overfield. We are looking forward to reconnecting through this page, as well as through the upcoming establishment of an Overfield Alumni Association, the hosting of community events, and a quarterly newsletter. Invite your friends, and stay tuned for more!

News from our Naturalist…
Fall on Overfield hill progresses as the deciduous plants continue to shed their leaves. The squirrels and chipmunks scamper about the grounds stashing food for the approaching winter. Grebes were spotted on Hobarts’ Pond last week heading for warmer weather. The Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, and Nuthatch have been feeding in the garden outside of South Side; these are sure signs of impending cold weather. (I am waiting to see my first Dark Eyed Junco).

The Multi Age class has been helping make winter food for the bees; this week they nailed the frame together that will hold our bee food. The class will paint it and attach a wire mesh bottom. The bees should not need extra food supplies until the weather turns really cold. The next bee project will be to get boxes being used for winter insulation ready for installation. I am looking forward to attending the annual Ohio State Beekeepers Association November 5th, which features lots of bee news and information, plus purveyors of honeybee supplies.
