• Enjoy “Autumn at Overfield” THIS SATURDAY: Our inaugural “Autumn at Overfield” event is right around the corner: this Saturday, October 11, from 2-5. We invite all of you to enjoy an afternoon on our campus hiking, painting, singing with Carla, and sharing s’mores, hot chocolate and pulled pork sliders. The event is open to the public, so invite friends! There are also ways that you can be involved in Autumn at Overfield as a host. This is a great opportunity to be a part of sharing what your child experiences at Overfield with others. Time slots are for one hour and some are available before and after the event for set up and clean up. Follow the link to sign up: http://vols.pt/sWCAZR.
  • Best of Dayton Nominee: The Overfield School has been selected as a finalist in the inaugural Best of Dayton event hosted by Dayton Magazine, in the category of Best Preschool. Hundreds of Dayton Magazine readers and the general public voted in their inaugural Best of Dayton, and we are pleased to announce that we made the list of three finalists in this category. This year’s finalists are being brought together for a showcase and celebration. Join us on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Mandalay Banquet Center from 5:30pm to 8:30pm for the Best of Dayton Celebration & Judging. As a finalist, we will be provided with the opportunity to showcase our school. In order to vote, you must be present at this event. To purchase tickets, visit thedaytonmagazine.com/BODAYTON and enter the promotion code: Finalist. Tickets are $10.00 and include 2 drink tickets, sampling of food and products from participating finalists, and a ballot to vote. Purchase your tickets today.
  • Calendar changes: Due to a packed October, we’ve made two changes to the calendar that was distributed to families at the beginning of the year. The class meeting that was originally scheduled for October 16 will be postponed. This event will be rescheduled, likely in November. We will announce the new date here. We have also scheduled a family event that has become a fun, annual tradition: a visit to Fulton Farms for a wagon ride and pumpkin picking on October 28. Registration details for Fulton Farms will be announced soon. If you did not receive a calendar, please ask for a copy in the office. You can also find our calendar online at our website, www.overfield.org.
  • Mason needed: Are any of our parents or friends brick layers? The outdoor fireplace near Kindergarten is in need of repair or rebuilding. We use the fireplace each year during Night Tree and in the spring to cook maple sap that the children collect into syrup. It would be great to have a volunteer to take on this project. If you are interested, please contact the office by phone or email.
