This week at Overfield we will have two opportunities for parents to gather and share ideas:
- A Reggio Roundtable discussion Thursday, February 20, right after drop off, in the Gathering Place. Parents can enjoy coffee and engage in conversation about our children and how they learn. Children are welcome to come and play while the adults chat.
- An Overfield Family Partnership meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Discussion will include the OFP’s Strawberry Festival fundraiser being planned for June. Complementary childcare is available; please RSVP to the office by noon on Thursday if you plan to bring your kids.
The following week we will host two special traditions:
- Grandparent and Special Friends Days on February 26 and 27. These days provide an opportunity for grandparents and other special friends to visit the school and spend a day with our students. We’ll have activities planned that children and their grandparents can enjoy together. We’ll also have a display of classic books, selected by our librarian, available for purchase. Feel free to invite guests for one day or two.
- Book Days Celebration on Saturday, March 1 from 10:30-11:30 at Jay and Mary’s Book Center. We will continue to celebrate literature at this Family Partnership-hosted event. Join us for music with Carla Briggs and a special reading of an Overfield favorite. You’ll also be able to purchase books from an Overfield-recommended book list at a discounted rate. Afterwards, you may want to head down the road to Marion’s to join other families for an informal buy-your-own-lunch gathering.
There will be no school this Monday, February 17 while we are closed for Presidents Day. We hope you enjoy the long weekend!
