Tree house sculptures made by some of our 2nd and 3rd grade students are now on display at the Hayner Center. They are part of a community exhibit titled Young Maskers, a take on the annual Young Masters K-12 art exhibit.
These tree houses grew out of a book the class was enjoying, The Vanderbeekers to the Rescue by Karina Yan Glaser. Students were inspired by an illustration in the book to design their own dream tree houses on paper. They proceeded over the course of the fall to translate these into three dimensional sculptures.
The artwork is on view now through April 11, 2021at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center located at 301 W. Main Street in Troy. Artwork created by K-12 students from Troy City Schools, St. Patrick School, and Troy Christian Schools is also on display.
Members of the community are encouraged to see the talent and skill of our local art students displayed throughout the historic Hayner Mansion. The Hayner Center is striving to provide a safe environment for all of its guests, volunteers and staff by following the directives provided to them by the Governor of Ohio and the local health department. Therefore, masks, hand sanitizing and social distancing are required for all Hayner guests. Groups of 10 or more should call (937) 339-0457 before they visit.
