Calling all friends and parents…
with chain saws, sanding belts, heavy moving equipment and muscle to our first playground work session Saturday, March 18, from 10-2. We have a large load of donated logs sitting just outside our playground waiting to be turned into challenging, sensory-rich playscapes for our students. This is the first round of several planned updates. Drinks and snacks will be provided. If you can help, please let us know! You can sign up at http://signup.com/go/RKrnPP

Thanks to Eric Davis and Tree Care, Inc. for the donation and delivery!
I am sure you have all noticed our up and down weather pattern-blustery and cold one day, warm and toasty the next. I was informed snow may be in our not too distant future….I am still looking forward to seeing it.
We have been making decisions for our new playground design. The committee has a ton of inspiring ideas on file, many made from natural materials. Elizabeth and I visited “Tree Care Inc” today. Eric Davis (the owner, who is also an Overfield parent member of our Board of Trustees) graciously offered us whatever we needed for our new play area. They have thousands of trees in massive piles, waiting to be re-purposed into lumber or mulch. We managed to choose quite a few nice sized and interestingly shaped logs. They were delivered this afternoon to the oohs and ahhs of the children on hand, and admiration of the adults. We have a playground workday scheduled for March 18. Hope to see you there. Enjoy the weekend! -Deb

OFP Meeting This Thursday
We hope you can join us for the monthly Overfield Family Partnership meeting Thursday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gathering Place. We will be unveiling plans for our next big fundraising event, the 1st Annual Overfield R3 Sale! We will also have fun exploring some of the materials that our children use every day, gaining an appreciation for their role in learning as well as developing a comfort with them that will support their use at home. As always, snacks and drinks will be provided. Limited childcare is available; email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot. You don’t want to miss this meeting! We hope to see you there!
2016-2017 Overfield Annual Fund Drive
As an Independent School, Overfield relies on Annual Giving from our community to help balance our budget and support the programming and activities we believe are so essential to our philosophy. Earlier in the year, we reached out to grandparents, friends, trustees, and staff who have generously contributed over $17,000 toward our monetary goal of $25,000. Now we come to you, our current families, to help round out this year’s campaign.
You should have received a letter and pledge envelope in the mail from this year’s Annual Fund parent representatives imploring you to contribute whatever amount works for your family. Our goal for parents is 100% participation. Each year, 100% of our staff and trustees contribute to the Annual Fund. Being able to also report we had 100% participation from our families would greatly strengthen our chances of being considered for additional grant dollars. Please help us reach this important goal!
Many employers also have matching programs for charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your employer’s HR department to see if this is something your employer offers.
Please contact Erin Johnston if you have any questions. 937-339-5111. Together, we can reach our goal and maintain the quality programming that is a hallmark of Overfield!
