You can learn more about Michael through the Muse Machine website, where they describe him as a “founding member and resident artist with The Human Race Theatre Company in Dayton, Ohio…In 2011, Michael received the Ohio Arts Council’s Governor’s Award for Arts in Education that recognizes life-time achievement in the arts. Michael serves both as Muse Machine’s Director of Elementary Programs and as a Program Artist. He works with teachers and students in early childhood through sixth-grade classrooms to explore the elements of live theater and how they can be used to explore and communicate specific concepts in Ohio’s New Learning Standards.”
We can’t wait to explore the world of theater with Michael next week, and again on April 2nd. Please join us in thanking the Ohio Arts Council, whose generous support through grant funding, helps make programs like this possible!
We are still in the midst of cold and flu season, and we thank our families for partnering with us to keep everyone at our school healthy! In support of this, please remember that no child should be at school if they show any of these symptoms:
Temperature of 100 or above
Temperature of 100 or above 24 hours prior to the start of school
Nausea or vomiting within a 24 hour period
Evidence of lice infestation, scabies, or other parasitic infestations
Difficult or rapid breathing
Red, burning, itching, yellow or discharging eyes
Skin eruptions or yellowing skin (e.g. impetigo)
Untreated, infected skin patches or rashes
Unusually dark urine or gray or white stool
If your child is not coming to school, PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE AT 937-339-5111 and notify our Administrative Assistant, Stephany, or leave a message. Attendance is tracked through the office and NOTIFYING YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER IS NOT SUFFICIENT REPORTING OF YOUR CHILD’S ABSENCE.
We are continuing to follow the proper procedures here at school to clean and sanitize all surfaces and materials as recommended to prevent the spread of illness. We are staying abreast of current developments with the SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19 and will take all necessary and prudent precautions to protect our children, teachers, and families. Reinforcing good hygiene practices like thorough hand washing and staying home when sick will help us all to stay healthy no matter what contagious diseases we encounter. Thank you again for your cooperation!
