Parent-Teacher Conferences
November 4 & 5, 2020
Parent-Teacher Conferences are fast approaching! Our teachers have been preparing to meet with you by diligently observing each child, and creating photo files and portfolio pages that will be used to support discussion with you during your scheduled conference time in November.
These Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, November 4 and all day Thursday, November 5.
There will be NO OVERFIELD CLASSES on November 5th as parents meet with teachers. A link to an electronic sign up sheet has been sent to you. Please make sure to reserve your meeting time with your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Due to COVID-19 concerns, all of these meetings will take place via Zoom.
Once you have scheduled your Parent-Teacher conference time, you will receive a link and password information for your Zoom meeting. Teachers will provide you with a USB stick prior to the conference which will contain a photo file and portfolio pages, so that you can view these items prior to and during your conference time.
This Parent-Teacher Conference time is allotted for us to discuss your child’s progress, and since it is not appropriate to discuss a child in his/her presence unless you are talking to that child, please make sure your child is not within hearing during your meeting.
Each conference will be 30 minutes in length, and it is important we stay on schedule. We will discuss our observations about your child and any questions or thoughts you have for us. If you feel more time is needed, we can immediately schedule another conference on another date.
We are looking forward to meeting with you all, and discussing all of the wonderful children we are fortunate to spend time with at Overfield!
“Children need the freedom to appreciate the infinite resources of their hands, their eyes, and their ears, the resources of forms, materials, sounds, and colors.”
-Loris Malaguzzi, founder of the Reggio Emilia philosophy
